The Universal Ground Protection Mat (UGP) is a ‘man-handle-able’ mat that provides a safe and temporary access for both tyred or rubber tracked vehicles. Two person lift with hand cut outs for easy handling and installation.
The mat comes in two versions which have treads on one side or treads on both sides. The single-sided mat has a smooth side underneath that can be used to drive over sidewalks, asphalt, tarmac, concrete driveways, tile floors and can work on flat roofs.
The UGP mat can also be used as “dirt boards” with the smooth side up. The treaded surface side up of the UGP mat is aimed at dispelling mud but will still give grip to rubber tyred vehicles or pedestrians as they cross the UGP mats.
The double sided mats have traction on both sides i.e. tyre to mat and mat to ground. The double sided mats have a better traction with the vehicle tyre to mat. (Therefore, be aware of the potential for the mats to spin out). The traction tread built into the underside of the mat aids gripping to the surface, whether that be soil, grass or synthetic turf. These small treads prevent sliding and provide stability of the mat.
Universal Ground Protection Mat can be used across a wide range of industries including utilities, construction and civil engineering projects, drilling contractors, emergency access, temporary access road and work areas, sports facilities and recreational grounds, gardens, parks, golf courses, cemeteries and a multitude of other applications.
Please Note: The mats with the smooth side underneath do NOT work well on hillsides and slopes as there is no traction and can also be slippery to foot traffic when wet.
