To help our customers safely use one of our column skips. We have now started to fit shorter Safety Bale Arms. These smaller bale arms are set closer to the apex of the skip, where their short design leaves the hopper entrance completely open for pouring and cleaning.
The off centre bale arm will also lay below the edge of the hopper when unconnected from a crane. A sizeable bale stop together with the reduced bale length helps to prevent any major body parts getting trapped whilst using or cleaning the skip.
To allow for easy use from ground level. The skips also come with a modified pulley design to help control the opening and more importantly closing of the shutter during pouring. In order to maintain the lowest possible loading height, the skip is laid horizontal to load but automatically reverts to the vertical position when in use. There is a provision to fit a flexible 2.5m or 5m heavy duty rubber hose (Sale Only).
These column skips now have a special safety security design as fitted with a short bale arm to minimise the risk of entrapment or crushing. When not in use, the bale arm must be placed in a lowered position resting on the bale stops.
